We’re less than 3 weeks away from Sick On The Green, at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Kentucky, on May 29th-31st. We’re bringing nine classes to the party, including the popular Lil Gangsta’s class with two separate chances to win, the recently announced Stick Shift class, and our new Sick Street Car Challenge class with $32,000 up for grabs!! Following the success of Sick At The Rock presented by Motion Raceworks, held April 10-12th at Rockingham Dragway, Sick The Magazine is ratcheting up the classes, and excitement level, for our second smaller event of 2025, Sick On The Green, May 29th – 31st in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
In addition to the five classes inspired by the former National Muscle Car Association (NMCA) and National Mustang Racers Association (NMRA) series we hosted in North Carolina last month, we’re adding the popular Lil Gangsta’s 5.30 No-Time class, the Street Eliminator 10.10 Index class, and a Stick Shift class Presented by Tremec Transmissions, to the line up in Kentucky!
The nine classes that will be racing at Beech Bend Raceway Park are:
1. Small Tire Pro Stock: A 7-second naturally aspirated 1/4-mile class on a 10.5" width slick.
2. Coyote Stock: Ford cars with factory sealed Coyote crate engines, on a 28 x 10.5" width slick tire, stick shifting to 9-second times, and wheelies
3. Lil Gangsta's 5.30 No-Time: Street-style cars and trucks on a 5.30-second 1/8-mile index, on 275 radials / 10.5-inch slick, no time slips/scoreboards, side-by-side competition. This class will compete in two separate eliminators, one on Friday May 30th and one on Saturday, May 31st.
4. Stick Shift: H-pattern stick shift rides banging gears, on a 1/4-mile distance, on 275 radials / 10.5-inch slick.
5. Street Race 8.60 Index: Spicy street-legal cars and trucks vying in side-by-side competition, on an 8.60-second quarter-mile index.
6. Street Eliminator 10.10 Index: Street rides will battle in side-by-side competition, on a 10.10-second quarter-mile index.
7. Sick Street Car Challenge: A 2-day drag and drive challenge class with over $30K in payouts! It gives drag and drive enthusiasts a chance to try out an event without committing to an entire week - the Sick Street Car Challenge will be contested using a Friday and Saturday format. Featuring a cruise with checkpoints, competitors will be required to turn in one time slip from Friday racing, one time slip from Saturday racing, and a third slip from either day, to complete their average.
8. Open Comp: Cars and trucks in the 7-14 second range, quarter-mile competition format, using commonly accepted Open Comp class rules.
9. Nostalgia Super Stock / Nostalgia Muscle Car Combo: 1955-1985 period-correct nostalgia cars in the 8-15 second range, on a quarter-mile distance, big and small tire cars (Nostalgia Super Stock), and small tire cars (Nostalgia Muscle Car).
Jimmy Dale, one of the people responsible for the popular Lil’ Gangsta’s class, and a winner in the class at the World Series of Pro Mod earlier this year in Florida, is looking forward to visiting Kentucky later this month.
“Having the class as part of Sick On The Green is awesome,” said Jimmy Dale. “I’m just a racer and having a blast promoting what I thought was a great class idea. The show of support for it is insane, and we’re looking forward to Kentucky and who will get that ten grand payout!”
Sick The Mag’s newest class design, the Sick Street Car Challenge, showcased some impressive performances at the Sick At The Rock event. One of those was drag and drive enthusiast Mike Finnegan, who will bring his familiar ’55 Chevy gasser known as ‘Blasphemi’ to Kentucky.
“I love Beech Bend Raceway Park,” said Finnegan. “Where else can you find a race track, along with a roller coaster and water slides all in one place? I’m bringing my family with me, and I know we’re going to have a great time!”
