Frequently Asked Questions

1.   Is this a one-way event? Where do I leave my trailer?

It sure is. We’ll be driving along Route 66 and then you can choose to drive back if you wish or keep going along Route 66. Trailers can be kept at Ozark Raceway Park or at the end at Alien City Dragway in Roswell.

2.   Will there be classes and awards?

There are no classes. Your average will be ranked among everyone else. There will be individual awards for things like Quickest Ford, Quickest Diesel etc. These will be listed in the Edelbrock Sick 66 rules. Speaking of rules, there will be general safety rules (NHRA spec) and drag-and-drive rules, but no specific class rules. Safety should adhere to NHRA eighth mile specs.

4.   Do I need drag radials or slicks?

No, this event allows hard tires.

5.   What will the track prep be like?

Track prep will be managed by each venue. Expect a variety of conditions.

6. Will there be a Sick Ward?

Yes. The Sick Ward will include spectator admission, a window banner and a t-shirt. Pit parking is not included.

7. I’m a spectator. What time should I get there? Can I go to the checkpoints?

Aim to get to the track early. Racing starts at 9am on each day except for the final day, which starts at 12pm. Most racers will make one or two passes and then will set out for the road journey. The best spectator experience is to watch a few hours of racing, walk through the pits to check out the cars closely, buy some merch and then follow the route to the first checkpoint.
