The Tenth Edition of Rocky Mountain Race Week 1.0 Sells Out Within A Minute of Opening General Registration

Over ten years of work have been done to get Rocky Mountain Race Week (RMRW) not only initially launched, but for drag-and-drive enthusiasts Matthew Frost and June Allison, it was worth it to create the second drag-and-drive on the scene starting in 2015.

For the tenth edition of Rocky Mountain Race Week 1.0, the event’s competitor slots were sold out within minutes of opening today.

Featuring one of the more scenic routes in drag-and-drive events, Rocky Mountain Race Week will make a big change from the tracks used in 2023, including Bandimere Speedway, which closed at the conclusion of the 2023 season.

Tulsa Raceway Park in Oklahoma will become the starting point for RMRW 1.0 on June 23rd, and the tour will roll to Texas Motorplex in Ennis for Tuesday racing, after a drive day on Monday. The tour then returns to Oklahoma, but this time to roll through the gates at Thunder Valley Raceway Park for Wednesday racing action on Wednesday.

Thursday will find RMRW at Mo-Kan Dragway in Missouri, before ultimately returning back to Oklahoma and Tulsa Raceway Park on Friday to wrap up the week.

The registration process began on Friday February 16th, with veterans (participants from the 2023 edition of RMRW 1.0) getting the first opportunity to register. “I feel strongly that if you give your core audience an advance chance to come back, it always benefits the event,” Matthew Frost has said in the past. “But we also leave the door open for new entrants, so we can attract a good mix of entrants.”

Nearly eighty percent of the spots were accounted for by the veterans on Friday, so general registration that opened Saturday February 17th for both new entrants and veterans that missed out on early registration, didn’t take long to sell out.

Now, the wait list begins to fill, but similar to other bigger drag-and-drive events, the wait list will prove vital to keeping the participant level close to 300 spots as registered racers begin to drop out for a variety of reasons.

Visit www.rockymountainraceweek.com/1-0-rmrw for more information and to join the wait list.
