With the midpoint of the event in the rear view mirror, Redwood Rally continued north in a combination of coastal miles, as well as making tracks east within the state of Oregon.

Day four would bring the competitors a total of 211 miles to its northernmost point of the week, Woodburn Dragstrip, to see what classes would have leader shake-ups, and which would solidify their class title chances.

After getting its start in Medford, Oregon, the second annual Redwood Rally made its way west to the coast of California and Samoa Dragstrip for day two of the event.

For day three, competitors would hit the road north, and follow the Pacific coastline 215 miles back into Oregon and Coos Bay Speedway.

Who could hang on to class leads?

After a successful first day at Medford Dragstrip in Medford, Oregon, the second annual Redwood Rally made its way west and a little south to Samoa, California and Samoa Dragstrip.

After 200 miles of street driving and changing states, who could hold on to class leads on the second day of racing?

Covering hundreds of miles of Pacific Northwest area, Redwood Rally will start and end their 2024 campaign at Medford Dragstrip in Medford, Oregon.

Day two would move the tour to Samoa Dragstrip in Samoa, California, then day three goes back to Oregon and Coos Bay Speedway in Coos Bay.

Day four will keep the competitors in Oregon to visit a new track to the event, Woodburn Dragway in Woodburn, Oregon, then the tour returns back to Medford Dragstrip for day five action, followed by additional racing action on September 22nd, including a small tire shootout.

With a solid resume in bracket racing in multiple cars, Lane Cavar had become a common name in the winners’ circle on the west coast. But he still felt like something was missing, especially with his high school car, a 1979 Chevrolet Malibu.

“I have always attempted to keep my car as multipurpose as possible, but was getting to the point of being a sole race car,” said Lane. “Being this is the car I drove to high school, I wanted to revert the car back to street car form.”

After successfully completing his second drag-and-drive event at the Redwood Rally in 2023, Ryan Saiki plans to return in just over a week with some updates and ‘adjustments’ to a storied Chevrolet Corvette. This C3 Corvette embarked on its first drag-and-drive last year, and Ryan plans to make the second one just as memorable.

“The people are awesome, and end up becoming like family. There's room for all kinds of vehicles, and there's no better test of man and machine.”

Needless to say, we were excited to see the Redwood Rally! The First West coast drag-and-drive! I asked Jason if he wants to go, and he lights up and says “Hell Yeah!” which is huge because he never takes time off (he has a body shop).

There are 35 events on the current drag-and-drive calendar (and likely two-five will be added before the end of the year), and as of this writing, fourteen are sold out.
