Ashley Price and JoAnna Iacobelli Team Up for Ashley’s First Drag-and-Drive at Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive

Nearly one year after completing her first drag-and-drive, JoAnna Iacobelli will make a return trip from her Michigan home to Florida later this month for Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive.

But this time she’ll be in the co-pilot role for friend and fellow Mustang enthusiast Ashley Price, who will pilot a 2020 model Shelby GT 500 Mustang.

“Having done Sick week, my experience was so fun,” said JoAnna, who did Sick Week in 2023 with husband Bryan Reid in her 2018 Mustang. “I was able to do mostly ‘one-and-done’ passes. I had a minor tune issue one day that resulted in having break the beams. But overall loved it, bummed I’m not doing it in my car again. But every excited to be mentoring Ashley on her first one.”

Ashley brings a potent ride into her first drag-and-drive, as the GT 500 has already seen some choice upgrades, including a ported stock blower, full exhaust, and smaller pulley combination.

The car is normally fueled on E-85, and has already participated in National Mustang Racers Association (NMRA) and Street Car Takeover events, as well as Roadkill Nights, and has already turned a 9.49 at 150 mph at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana.

“JoAnna and Bryan have offered me so much Coyote and Mustang knowledge that is worth more than gold,” said Ashley. “They’ve showed me so many things to help me learn to work on the car. I really wouldn’t have had some of this success without their guidance along the way.”

JoAnna hopes it’ll be a smooth event for Ashley, but knows it’ll be a whole different experience for her. “I think for Ashley she’s going to have a tough time knowing when to leave,” said JoAnna. “She may want to keep running to do her absolute best.

Ashley and I are great friends, we have such a strong passion for drag racing and supporting each other. I think our team strength with be our communication and none competitive nature. We well have so much fun that will make everything else fall into place.”
